Ryan Kinder has been performing in live music venues across the south for over four years, yet he is only 19 years old. As a freshman attending the University of Alabama, he already has two recordings in his cache; the self-titled “RyanKinder” CD and “The EP”.
He has shared the stage with artists such as Eliot Morris, Sister Hazel, Brett
Dennen, and Rob Blackledge. Back to back appearances at Birmingham’s
City Stages as well as numerous shows at the Alabama Theater, Workplay Theater,
and Zydeco in Birmingham along with routine appearances at locations in Tuscaloosa
and Auburn, Alabama; Destin, Florida; and Atlanta, Georgia, have solidified
Ryan as one of the best, new acts in the southeast. His music has been influenced
strongly by the blues but shows hints of pop as well as the lyrical content
of folk.
Ryan Kinder continues to make a name for himself by writing songs that tug
at your emotional heartstrings and provides a live performance that leaves
you wanting more.
What people are saying about Ryan;
About his
song “Heart” - …catchy acoustic guitar rhythm, smooth bass
line and drums blended with powerful lyrics. All these elements are intertwined
in perfect harmony allowing listeners of all ages to connect on a deeper level
with the song. Ryan Kinder’s song, “Heart” brings about
a refreshing change in a world where the term music has been loosely associated
with demeaning lyrics and less than spectacular vocals. You don’t have
to watch American Idol to see who the next star is.
K. George, Samford University
“Birmingham singer-songwriter Ryan Kinder….. a soulful voice and
tasty guitar playing. Keep an eye on this kid. He’s a good one.
Scott Register, Reg’s Coffee House
“Yeah, he’s new, he’s young, but dang the boy can play,
sing, and write like he was in the fifties. Nineteen years old and a classic
already!!”
